The answer for the problem was to move the club to a new site near to the old club. White Horse contractors were selected for the project after a competitive tender process to work with SKANSKA to create a natural turf GAA pitch.

The club required a fully drained pitch for their sides to play both traditional Gaelic games. White Horse Contractors arrived on the agreed start date and began the removal of topsoil for the cut and fill to level the ground. Once the playing area was ready our specialist drainage team arrived on site with our Mastenbroek 15/15 trencher to begin installing primary drainage for the site at 5 metre centres laterally across the pitch.

The secondary drainage was installed using the AFT Wizz wheel perpendicular to the primary drainage across the new pitch and back filled. Once the drainage was installed, we imported sports specific sand and soil carpet to improve the soil structure on the site before the cultivation and seeding were completed. Ball stop netting and the Gaelic specific posts were stabilised into the ground ready for use. The area was then maintained by White Horse Contractors until time to hand the finished Gaelic pitches over to the club.
